It is now summer again and the water lilies in our front pond have been a delight this year. The lily above is called ‘Peach Glow’ and is supposed to readily flower for most of the year even when it doesn’t receive very much sun. We are hoping for success into the winter months.
Our frog to the right sitting in the colourful bromeliad Neoregelia ‘Deb’ is a female stoney creek frog, and she tries unsuccessfully to hide herself here during daytime, right beside the front door. Her male counterpart is yellow to lime green in colour in mating season and half her size, so they are very easy to tell apart. Unlike most other frogs they are not very noisy, with an almost inaudible call. The rest of our frogs make up for them.
